Retrofitting the New Suction Cups

In 2019 Aircraft Covers, Inc. changed the style of suction cup used on our Aircraft and Automotive Heatshield Sunshades. We can still provide replacements for the older style, but in limited quantity. Most customers are very pleased with the new style of suction cup and we have created this useful article to retrofit Heatshields with old suction cups to fit the new style.

Tools:

• Flush Cutting Pliers
• Grommet Kit
• New Style Suction Cup Kit

Process:

1. Carefully remove the old suction cups by cutting the white pin backing.

2. Next, use a grommet kit to cut a 3/8th inch whole for the new suction cup.

3. Reinforce the new with the circular sticker from the Suction Cup Kit.

4. Install the new suction cup and your Heatshields are ready to go.
